During the month of October, the Hoefer Law Firm was a collection site for “T.P. The Crisis Center”. While toilet paper is a necessity, The Crisis Center budgets its funds only for food. Toilet paper is available only when it’s donated.
Margaret Henderson, our senior paralegal, organized this event in honor of her mother, Kathleen Henderson.
And, just 5 days in, the TP had already begun to roll in!
The Crisis Center encouraged a social media TP sculpture competition, so we built a maze for our office dog. Here is Pearl’s first practice run through a maze of toilet paper, all in the name of a good cause. It was probably her first maze ever, and she did great.
Then we created new office space, a cubicle of TP:
In addition to being a collection site, we also had a GoFundMe campaign for donations.
The GoFundMe goal was $300 and we raised $350! With the donations, we purchased 600 rolls of toilet paper.
We’d like to give a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who donated toilet paper or contributed to the GoFundMe campaign, including:
The Iowa City Public Library staff for donating 294 rolls
Lepic-Kroeger Realtors staff for donating 174 rolls
ACT staff for donating 97 rolls
Our goal was to collect 500 rolls of toilet paper and we collected 1,705, more than 3 times our goal.
Thank you all for spreading the word and donating your time and resources to help people in need.
